Guanacaste is located in the northwestern part of the country, along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. It borders Nicaragua to the north and it covers an area of 10,141 km2. Known as one of the richest province in Costa Rica, Guanacaste has gained a name for itself as a tropical paradise with a pristine shoreline, wonderful mountain ranges and a number of volcanoes.
